We book flights by reservation only. Flights are $350 per person. There is a $50 per person deposit due at the time of booking. This deposit will go toward the balance due at the time of the flight. If the weather conditions are unsafe to fly, your deposit can either be rolled over to a rescheduled date or refunded in full.
You pay the balance due at the time of the flight, CASH or CHECK.
We fly ONE time per day, EARLY MORNING right at SUNRISE. This is when conditions are more stable. Sunrise times vary depending on the time of the year.
You will need to allow about 3 hours total time from start to finish. The actual time in the air averages about one hour.
Ballooning is weather dependent, and some conditions are unsafe for flying. High winds, precipitation, and fog or low clouds are some of the issues that may require us to cancel or reschedule your flight. Sometimes the wind may be calm on the ground, but too strong at the altitude we would be flying. Your pilot will base the decision to fly on safety and ALWAYS reserves the right to cancel if weather conditions are not favorable. Typically we can determine the day before your flight the conditions will be safe or not. We ask that our passengers call us the afternoon before your scheduled flight to confirm weather and finalize details.
We have a centrally located place that is easy to find where you can meet us and leave your vehicle during the flight. This is not the place where we launch the balloon. We select our launch site based on the direction of the wind on the day of your flight. You will ride with us in our chase vehicle and watch as the balloon is inflated. The chase vehicle follows the balloon and will meet us at our landing site. After packing the balloon, we will bring you back to your vehicle.
We can take up to 4 passengers but the total weight must be UNDER 500 pounds.
Yes, you can certainly make a reservation, we will do our best to fit you in with other passengers. Should you want to fly solo you will need to pay for 2.
We ask that all children are tall enough to see over the side of the basket, at least 36 inches. Parents are not permitted to hold children in the basket during the flight. Let us know if you have any questions on this when booking your flight. There is no discount for children to fly.
There are times when the pilots & crew team may ask for passenger participation during inflation and after the flight when packing up the balloon. If you have any limitations and cannot do this please let your pilot know.
Examples of helping during your ballooning experience can include, but are not limited to, holding the mouth of the balloon open during inflation, lightly putting your weight on the basket once the balloon is standing, helping to pack away the balloon (holding the Velcro straps that go on the envelope, holding the balloon bag open while packing it away). It is not a requirement that you assist the pilot but many passengers look forward to the whole experience & that includes lending a hand if needed.
We travel at the same speed as the wind. The pilot controls up and down and the wind chooses the direction in which you travel. Our launch spots are picked based on the wind direction.
We suggest wearing comfortable clothing, and closed toe shoes. In the cooler months, layers are best, and the suggestion is to dress for the weather that day, it is not any warmer or colder in the air.
Of course! We highly recommend taking pictures, but don't take so many that you miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!
YES! There are no restrooms at the launch areas, or landing spots. It's just best not to drink a lot before your flight.
We fly between 500-1000 feet. Any higher the things on the ground just get smaller! This height gives the best views and makes for great photos.
